► ESPP Components - Village Clusters and Pilots:

Objective

To contribute to a sustainable rural economy that strengthens the social and economic fabric of the communities and ultimately play a prominent role in overall Jordanian social and economic development.

 Procedure

·               The Village Clusters and Pilots program is managed and directly implemented by three consortia of international NGOs teaming up with local partnering NGOs:

·         Mercy Corps with Jordan River Foundation.

·         Creative Associates International with the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development.

·         Cooperative Housing Foundation with Community Centers Association.

·               The grantees identify targeted clusters in areas considered high priority areas for the government in terms of poverty and unemployment rates.

·               The grantees formulate local committees responsible for identifying and prioritizing community needs, mobilizing community and other resources, and monitoring the implementation of projects.

·               The grantees then formulate Cluster Committees that will identify needs, determine priorities, develop and implement action plans to address the needs.

·               The committees, once approving the projects, should strive for a legal status to fully own and manage the projects.

·               The grantees will then work on building the capacities of the legal entity, in a way that guarantees its ability to manage and sustain the projects and lead future initiatives on its own.
